GETTING STARTED

WHAT IS HIVECELL?

Hivecell is a small server for distributed computing such as Hadoop or blockchain and represents one node with its specific technical parameters.

WHAT IS HIVE?

Hive is a fully manageable stack built from a group of Hivecells and represents a scalable cluster with some amount of Hivecells (nodes).

WHAT IS MINIMUM STACK RECOMMENDED FOR ONE HIVE?

The minimum amount of Hivecells recommended as a beginner's stack for use cases of development on distributed computing systems is four Hivecells stacked in one Hive.

HOW CAN I CREATE HIVE?

Using Hivecell.io account on management page you are able to create Hive's, configure and manage entire stack.

HOW MANY HIVES CAN I CREATE?

Can be created as much Hive's as needed, but functionally would be available only Hives that includes Hivecells. Hives without Hivecells would be reserved for further Hivecells adding and usage.

Add Hivecells

Can I add Hivecells to Hive?

One of the most important features is simple stacking and scalability. In order to make Hive more powerful, add more nodes to cluster - just place Hivecell on top of Hive and that's it. You'll get the notification on Hivecell.io that Hivecell is identified and ready to be added to Hive.

Remove Hivecells

Can I remove Hivecells from Hive?

Yes. Hive can be simply scaled down to create two separate Hives and manage them separately. For example, if you decide to used it for different projects with different architecture: one for blockchain technologies the other one for machine learning algorithms testings.

What would happen when I physically remove Hivecells from the stack?

For cases when Hivecell was accidentally physically removed from Hive included additional hardware and software functionality that will keep your data and jobs safely running.
